Canada Day at Mississauga Celebration Square is the city’s biggest annual event — and 2026 is set to be one of the best yet. More than 50,000 people are expected at the annual Canada Day party hosted by the city at Celebration Square in Mississauga’s downtown core. This year’s celebration combines the national holiday with FIFA World Cup energy, a lineup of Canadian musical talent, 30+ food trucks, family activities throughout the day, and a fireworks finale to close out the night.

The Performers
bbno$ is the headline act — a multi-platinum, JUNO Award–winning Canadian artist with a massive international following built through viral TikTok reach and collaborations that have charted globally. He’s one of the highest-profile headline bookings the Canada Day event has had in recent years.
Tedy is a rising Canadian pop star whose sound blends contemporary pop with strong melodic hooks — a name that’s been appearing on Canadian music radar with increasing frequency.
Aiona Santana brings Latin-pop energy to the saugaLIVE Stage — a reflection of Mississauga’s genuinely diverse music audience and the city’s Latin and South American community.
Sauga Sound Collective grounds the evening in local Mississauga talent — the collective has become a fixture of Celebration Square programming and a genuine representation of the city’s music scene.
The event is hosted by Mariah Amber and Dhanung Bulsara, with DJ Jelz spinning throughout the evening.
Family Activities All Day
Non-stop fun for the young and the young-at-heart all over the Square:
- Splash party in the fountain powered by Alectra
- Jumping Kids Bus with the ultimate gymnastics course (suitable for kids aged 1–10)
- Freestyle Soccer Obstacle Course — test your soccer skills
- Canadian Storytimes at 4:30 PM and 5:30 PM in the Great Hall, hosted by Mississauga Library
- Little Canucks Playzone with sidewalk chalk, Giant Jenga, Connect 4 and more
- Bricks and Blocks Playzone featuring giant play blocks, thousands of LEGO Bricks, and fun photo ops
- Face painters, roaming bubble artists, and surprises throughout the evening
Food Trucks and Vendors
This year features 25+ food trucks and food market vendors. Expect a range covering everything from classic Canadian BBQ to international street food reflecting Mississauga’s diverse culinary character.
Arrive early for the best selection — popular trucks and vendors run out of their best items before the evening is over. The Celebration Square area is fully licensed for the event, and the extended 3 AM last-call for surrounding bars and restaurants means plenty of post-fireworks options nearby.
Canada Celebrates FIFA World Cup 2026 — Also on July 1
Canada Day 2026 is bigger than usual because of a second major event happening simultaneously in downtown Mississauga. Mississauga is hosting a stop on the Canada Celebrates FIFA World Cup 2026 tour in partnership with Visit Mississauga, taking place on July 1 in downtown Mississauga. This one-day event will attract visitors and fans from across the country to watch the tournament, participate in soccer-themed festivities and enjoy the jubilation of the game.
The Canada Celebrates FIFA World Cup 2026 Official Fan Experience runs on July 1 in the Square One parking lot — adjacent to Celebration Square and complementing the Canada Day programming for a full day of celebration combining national pride with World Cup fever.
Getting There
With limited access to available parking in downtown Mississauga on Canada Day, attendees are encouraged to carpool, walk, bike or take MiWay. MiWay will operate on a regular Sunday schedule. Routes 3, 7, 10, 17 and 23 will provide additional late evening service. Routes 3, 6 and 26 will be on detour from 4 to 11:30 PM due to road closures near Celebration Square.
Address: Mississauga Celebration Square, 300 City Centre Drive, Mississauga, ON L5B 3C1
Road closures are in effect in the downtown core — driving directly to the square on Canada Day is not recommended. Transit, cycling, and walking are strongly preferred. If driving, Square One Shopping Centre parking is your best option and within easy walking distance.
Road Closures to Know
Road closures will be in effect in the downtown core starting from 6 AM on June 30 through July 2 at 6 AM, with expanded closures from 9 AM to 11:30 PM on July 1.
Check the City of Mississauga’s Canada Day event webpage for the specific streets affected before driving in the City Centre area.
Practical Tips for Canada Day at Celebration Square
Arrive by 5:00 PM if you want good positioning on the square for the music. The official ceremony at 6:20 PM draws the largest crowds and the area fills up quickly after 6:00 PM.
Bring a blanket — the square has seating but 50,000 people means you’ll want your own spot on the surrounding grass.
Wear red and white — this is Canada Day, after all, and the crowd atmosphere is genuinely festive.
Stay for the fireworks — the 10:00 PM fireworks finale presented by Tim Hortons closes the night from the square. A stunning fireworks show closes out the night and is visible from a wide radius around the City Centre area.
The event is 100% free — no tickets, no wristbands, no registration required.
