Coronation Park is Oakville’s largest lakefront park — a 35+ hectare green space on Lakeshore Road West between Bronte Village and the Old Oakville core, with direct Lake Ontario beach access, extensive picnic infrastructure, mature tree canopy, and one of the best summer outdoor concert series in the Halton Region.
The park occupies a generous stretch of the Lakeshore Road waterfront and provides the kind of open, grassy space that the smaller, more manicured waterfront parks in downtown Oakville don’t offer. Families with young children gravitate to Coronation Park specifically for the combination of beach access, playground equipment, and open space for games — the park handles large groups comfortably where smaller Oakville waterfront parks feel crowded.
The Coronation Park Summer Concert Series runs July and August on the park’s main lawn — free outdoor concerts on summer evenings drawing community audiences from across Oakville. The series has become a reliable warm-weather tradition for local families and typically features a mix of jazz, pop, and folk acts appropriate for all ages. Check the Town of Oakville’s events calendar for the current season’s lineup.
The Waterfront Trail passes through Coronation Park, connecting it west to Bronte Village (a 15-minute walk) and east to the Old Oakville harbour area and beyond. Cycling through the park section of the trail is one of the more scenic stretches of the Oakville waterfront route.
The Oakville Latino Festival (July 24–26, 2026) takes over Coronation Park annually — a three-day celebration of Latin culture through food, live music, entertainment, and community activities that has become one of Oakville’s most vibrant summer events.
Parking is available on the north side of the park off Lakeshore Road West. Washrooms open seasonally. No admission charge.
