Snug Harbour has been a Port Credit institution since 1996. Family-owned and operated by the Clifton family for nearly three decades, it sits directly on Lake Ontario at 14 Stavebank Road South — and it’s the kind of restaurant where regulars describe having gone for close to thirty years and not being disappointed.

The setting is the first thing you notice: a large dining room with floor-to-ceiling windows facing Lake Ontario and the Credit Village Marina, contemporary pendant lighting, a central fireplace for the colder months, and what the restaurant calls the largest wraparound heated patio in the area. The lake view is real and unobstructed, particularly from the patio seats, and it’s the primary reason visitors come back.

The menu leans on fresh fish and seafood but does more than just that. Chef Tim’s signature dishes — Canadian Whitefish stuffed with crab, shrimp, and scallops; East Coast Oysters served at the raw bar; and the Seafood Pescatore, a linguini with East Coast scallops, tiger shrimp, chili peppers, and lobster cream sauce — anchor a menu that also includes steaks, burgers, handmade pasta, and stone-baked thin-crust pizzas for those who arrive with non-seafood appetites.

Standout starters include the Seafood Trio (vodka-cured smoked salmon, poached black tiger shrimp, sesame-crusted Ahi Tuna), Blue Crab Cakes with orange pineapple coconut curry sauce, and the Little Neck Clam Chowder.

Patio seating is first-come, first-served; indoor reservations are accepted for up to 8 people via the website. For groups of 9 or more, contact the restaurant directly at reservations@snugharbourrestaurant.com or by phone. Summer weekend waits can be significant — the lake view earns them, and the heated patio extends the season well into fall. The oyster bar draws a particularly loyal following through the colder months when the dining room fireplace and lake views make for an exceptional winter evening out.
