The Crooked Cue has been part of Port Credit’s social fabric since 1997, occupying a historic 1920s building on Lakeshore Road East that once served as the neighbourhood’s Vogue Theatre. That heritage is visible in the building’s bones — it’s a proper two-storey venue with a retractable roof that opens to the sky on warm evenings, creating one of the more unusual indoor-outdoor pub experiences in Mississauga.

The family that runs it has been in the billiards business since 1920, with three generations operating Pappas Billiards in Belleville, then Kingsway Billiards in Etobicoke, and finally the Crooked Cue in Port Credit. That longevity shows in how the venue operates — it’s genuinely community-rooted, hosts fundraisers and private events for up to 250 people, and has won Mississauga News Readers Choice Best Pool Hall every year from 1998 to 2013.

The second floor has pool tables available for reservation — ideal for groups who want a structured activity alongside food and drinks, rather than just sitting at a table. Ping pong is also available. The venue is well set up for birthday parties, office events, and wedding celebrations, with staff accommodating for dietary restrictions and group menu planning.

The food menu covers reliable pub fare with some standouts: Fish Tacos and Shrimp Tacos are consistently praised, the Jambalaya draws particular attention from regular visitors, and the cauliflower bites and smokehouse burgers round out a menu built for casual group eating. The drink selection runs to craft beer — including local Port Credit beer from Old Credit Brewing, available on tap — cocktails, sangria, and a strong spirits selection.

The 40-seat patio on Lakeshore Road catches the foot traffic of Port Credit’s main strip and fills quickly on summer evenings. The retractable roof makes it a genuinely year-round outdoor option when weather cooperates. For sports events, the bar has screens throughout and draws a lively crowd for major games.

One thing reviewers note consistently: if you’re coming for a larger group and want pool table access, book in advance through the website. Walk-in is fine for the main floor, but tables fill on weekend evenings.
