Mississauga is one of the most culturally diverse cities in the world. More than half the city’s residents were born outside Canada, over 150 languages are spoken across its neighbourhoods, and that cultural richness shows up in a festival calendar that runs from May through October with barely a gap. Most events are free. Most happen at Celebration Square or Port Credit Memorial Park. Most are created and run by the communities they represent — which is what makes Mississauga’s festival scene genuinely distinctive rather than a surface-level multicultural showcase.
Here is every major cultural festival on the 2026 calendar, in order.

Carassauga Festival of Cultures

Now in its 41st year, Carassauga is Canada’s largest multicultural festival and one of the most logistically unusual cultural events in the country. Rather than gathering cultural displays in a single venue, the festival spreads across community halls, recreation centres, and arenas throughout Mississauga. Each location becomes a pavilion for a specific country or cultural group, staffed and run by members of that community.
In 2026, over 21 pavilions represent countries including Egypt, China, India, Ireland, Indonesia, Iraq, Pakistan, the Philippines, Portugal, Ukraine, Poland, and more. Each pavilion has food prepared on site, live music and dance, traditional dress, arts and crafts, and the hospitality of a community welcoming people into its own space. This is what separates Carassauga from a themed cultural display — every pavilion is the real thing.
A festival passport covers entry to all pavilions for both days. Free shuttle buses and MiWay transit (free with passport during festival hours) connect all locations. The Kids Zone at the main Paramount Fine Foods Centre hub runs both days with games, arts and crafts, and meet-and-greets with festival mascots Carra and Missi. Every cultural pavilion also has its own children’s programming area.
Planning tip: Saturday has the most performance activity. Popular pavilions queue up by mid-afternoon. Arriving at noon on Saturday gets you the best access. Download the festival map from carassauga.com before you go.

Mississauga Polish Days
When: June 5–6, 2026 Where: Celebration Square, 300 City Centre Drive, Mississauga Admission: Free
One of the first cultural events of the summer season at Celebration Square, Mississauga Polish Days opens the warm weather festival calendar with traditional Polish folk dancing, live stage performances, Polish food including pierogi and kielbasa, a beer garden, and family activities for children. A genuine community event that draws well beyond the immediate Polish-Canadian community.
Mississauga Halal Food Festival
When: June 12–13, 2026 Where: Celebration Square Admission: Free
A global food festival showcasing halal cuisine from Middle Eastern, South Asian, African, and international vendors across two days at Celebration Square. Alongside the food, a dedicated kids zone, shopping, and family programming fill the square. One of the best opportunities in the city to eat across multiple culinary traditions in a single afternoon.
Taco Fest Mississauga
When: June 27–28, 2026 Where: Port Credit Memorial Park, 40 Lakeshore Road East, Mississauga Admission: Free
Taco Fest made its Mississauga debut in 2026 at Port Credit Memorial Park, bringing over 150 taco variations to one of the city’s most beautiful outdoor settings on Lake Ontario. Live music and a fully family-friendly atmosphere completed what became one of the most anticipated new summer additions to the Mississauga calendar. Worth putting on the recurring calendar for future years.

JACKALOPE Mississauga
When: July 10–12, 2026 Where: Celebration Square and surrounding downtown area Admission: Free
North America’s only dedicated urban action sports festival, JACKALOPE brings world-class skateboarding, bouldering, BASE jumping, roller skating, and trampoline events to downtown Mississauga over three full days. The 2026 edition expanded its event roster with additional disciplines. As a spectator event it is genuinely spectacular regardless of athletic ability — free for all ages.
RED FM Summer Bhangra Jam
When: July 18, 2026 Where: Mississauga Celebration Square Admission: Free
A single-day celebration of Punjabi culture through live bhangra dance performances, musical acts, food trucks, a kids zone, shopping, and fashion programming. One of the most energetic days at Celebration Square all summer, reflecting the scale and vitality of Mississauga’s Punjabi community. Free throughout.
Bollywood Monster Mashup
When: July 24–26, 2026 Where: Celebration Square Admission: Free
Three days of Bollywood music and dance, international headline acts, interactive workshops for all levels, and what the organizers call a Monster Food fusion experience combining South Asian and international street food. The dance programming spans classical forms, contemporary Bollywood, and fusion styles — drawing its own dedicated following across all three days.

Mosaic Festival
When: July 31–August 1, 2026 Where: Celebration Square Admission: Free
The Mosaic Festival celebrates South Asian Canadian arts, culture, heritage, and cuisine in its 19th year. Two days of live music, visual art, performance, and food programming — with artists from across South Asia and the South Asian diaspora in Canada, the US, and internationally. Designed to be genuinely family-oriented without sacrificing artistic quality. The independent music stage is a particular draw for those interested in contemporary South Asian-Canadian music.
Mississauga ITALFEST
When: August 21–22, 2026 Where: Celebration Square Admission: Free
Established as Mississauga’s first dedicated Italian festival and recognized as one of Ontario’s top festivals consistently since 2016, ITALFEST celebrates Italian and Italian-Canadian culture across a full weekend. Bocce ball tournaments open to all, pasta-eating contests, an Italian heritage pavilion, live music from Italian and Italian-Canadian performers, and the Bar Italia licensed area round out a program that is free throughout.
Japan Festival Canada
When: August 15–17, 2026 Where: Celebration Square Admission: Free (some ticketed events)
Three days of Japanese food, culture, technology, and performance at Celebration Square, with taiko drumming, J-pop performances, Japanese street food, and a technology component showcasing Japanese innovation. One of the more comprehensive single-culture festivals in Mississauga’s summer calendar and the only one that adds a dedicated tech programming component alongside food and performance.
MuslimFest
When: August 28–30, 2026 Where: Celebration Square Admission: Free
The largest Muslim arts and culture festival in North America, MuslimFest draws visitors from across the GTA and internationally to Mississauga for three days of arts, entertainment, cuisine, and community programming. Film screenings, international art exhibitions, a multicultural bazaar, spoken-word performances, comedy, and a full kids carnival with pony rides and games make this one of the most programmatically diverse festivals in the entire summer calendar. Hours run from early afternoon to late evening each day.
Mississauga Hong Kong Festival
When: August 30–September 1, 2026 Where: Paramount Fine Foods Centre, Mississauga Admission: Free
Three days celebrating Mississauga’s Hong Kong-Canadian community through the World Kong Cup (a 7-a-side soccer tournament), Hong Kong-inspired food vendors, cultural performances, a talent show, and photography and design competitions. The Paramount Fine Foods Centre venue provides indoor-outdoor flexibility for the late August dates.

Philippine Festival Mississauga
When: September 11–13, 2026 Where: Celebration Square Admission: Free
Three days of traditional Filipino dance performances in full regional costume, Filipino street food, and cultural programming representing the Philippines’ extraordinary cultural and culinary diversity. The dance performances specifically — covering regional styles from across the Philippine archipelago — draw audiences who come specifically for that programming. One of the most visually spectacular festivals in Mississauga’s full calendar year.
Southside Shuffle Blues and Jazz Festival
When: First or second weekend of September, Port Credit Where: Port Credit Memorial Park and village Admission: Free (most events)
Nearly three decades of continuous operation have made the Southside Shuffle the most established cultural event in Port Credit and one of the best free music festivals in the GTA. Multiple outdoor stages across Port Credit Memorial Park and the surrounding village carry blues, roots, and jazz performers from Canada and internationally over three days. The festival also holds the annual Mississauga Music Walk of Fame induction ceremony.
AfroCan Roots and Rhythms Festival
When: September 18, 2026 Where: Celebration Square Admission: Free
A celebration of African and Caribbean cultural heritage through live music, dance, food, vendor markets, and community programming at Celebration Square. One of the last major outdoor cultural events of the summer season, well worth catching before the weather turns.
Diwali at Celebration Square
When: October 4–5, 2026 Where: Celebration Square Admission: Free
Diwali — the festival of lights observed by Hindu, Sikh, and Jain communities — is celebrated annually at Celebration Square as one of the last major outdoor events of the season. Live performances, food, and the square itself illuminated for the occasion close out the outdoor cultural calendar for another year.
Getting Around Festival Season
Transit is the most practical approach for any major Celebration Square event. The Square One Bus Terminal directly adjacent connects to MiWay routes across the city and to GO Transit. Road closures in the City Centre area during large festival weekends make driving both slower and more complicated than transit for most visitors.
For Carassauga specifically, MiWay is free with a festival passport during event hours — removing every practical reason to drive.
